Accelerate Canadian Long Short Equity Fund is an actively managed Canadian equity fund that aims for long-term capital appreciation and a superior risk-adjusted return relative to the broader Canadian equity market. To achieve that, it invests primarily in equity securities of Canadian and foreign issuers listed in Canada and overlays a long-short strategy: it goes long the most attractive stocks and takes short positions in the least attractive, based on a systematic multi-factor ranking system.
The fund employs leverage via its overlay: the long side of the overlay can run to approximately 150% of net asset value, while the short side is limited to approximately 50% of NAV. The portfolio is rebalanced monthly.
The provider is Accelerate Financial Technologies Inc., and the vehicle is an exchange-traded fund domiciled in Canada. Regulation and compliance are under applicable Canadian securities legislation.
