iShares JPMorgan Emerging Markets Corporate Bond UCITS ETF tracks an index of U.S. dollar-denominated corporate bonds issued by companies located in emerging market countries. It seeks to replicate the performance of the benchmark via a passive, rule-based strategy. The benchmark is the J.P. Morgan CEMBI Broad Diversified Core Index, which measures the performance of USD-corporate bonds from emerging markets.
The index includes both investment grade and high yield bonds issued by corporate entities in emerging market countries across regions such as Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East/Africa, and Asia (excluding Japan). Selection criteria include minimum size of issuance, remaining maturity, liquidity requirements, and issuer location (e.g. where the company is headquartered, operates, or is fully guaranteed by an entity in an emerging market economy). The index employs diversification constraints so that countries with large corporate debt stocks are limited and excess weight is redistributed to smaller issuers.
The fund is a UCITS ETF issued by iShares V plc (part of BlackRock), domiciled in Ireland. It physically (or by sampling) holds securities to match the index under the UCITS regulatory framework. It is structured to rebalance monthly in line with the index's rebalancing schedule.
