FIDELITY GLOBAL SMALL-MID CAP EQUITY FUND (CAD) FGSM.CA

The fund aims to provide long-term capital growth by investing primarily in equity securities of global companies outside the large-cap segment. It is an index-tracking fund whose benchmark is the MSCI World SMID Cap Index, which captures small-, mid- and micro-capitalization companies across 23 developed market countries.

The strategy builds a fully equity portfolio, extending beyond mid-caps into small and micro-caps, thereby seeking exposure to parts of the market often underrepresented in traditional large-cap portfolios.

It uses a combination of fundamental and quantitative approaches to select companies with desirable fundamental characteristics. The fund is provided by Fidelity Investments Canada ULC. It is offered both as a mutual fund and as an ETF series, under a regulatory mutual fund trust framework in Canada.
