The Goldman Sachs Alpha Enhanced World ex USA Equity Active UCITS ETF is an open-ended, actively managed equity fund offered by Goldman Sachs Asset Management under its Alpha Enhanced ETF range. It invests primarily in publicly traded companies headquartered or operating outside the United States, seeking long-term capital appreciation through a quantitative, data-driven process.
Rather than tracking a market cap or factor index, the fund's mandate allows for active security selection and portfolio positioning. Active bets are applied across a broad equity universe ex-USA and designed to deviate from passive benchmarks within controlled risk limits (known as tracking error), in order to generate excess return (alpha) while retaining much of the characteristics of a traditional equity beta exposure.
The structure is a UCITS-compliant ETF domiciled in Ireland, as a sub-fund of Goldman Sachs ETF ICAV. It applies physical replication of its portfolio and is managed using a systematic quantitative model which incorporates long-term factors such as valuation, quality, and momentum, along with shorter-term inputs like sentiment. Sector and country exposures are intended to remain diversified and the fund publicly discloses its full holdings daily.
