The iShares S&P 500 Swap UCITS ETF aims to provide investors with performance equivalent to that of the S&P 500 Index, which tracks 500 large-capitalisation U.S. companies selected on free-float market value, size, and liquidity criteria, weighted by market capitalisation.

Rather than holding the constituent stocks directly, the fund uses a synthetic replication approach via derivative contracts, primarily unfunded total return swaps, to gain exposure to the benchmark. It may also use other financial derivative instruments when swaps are not practicable.
