The JPMorgan Carbon Transition Global Equity UCITS ETF seeks to replicate the performance of a proprietary index that is aligned with the EU's Climate Transition Benchmark standards. It aims to deliver returns comparable to global developed-large/mid cap equities while significantly reducing the portfolio's greenhouse gas emissions exposure and targeting a year-on-year 7% reduction in carbon intensity, as well as an overall emissions intensity at least 30% lower than its reference universe.
This ETF is equity-based with a global large- and mid-cap scope, focused on companies in developed markets. Stocks are selected and weighted using a rules-based process: it excludes issuers in certain industries (such as tobacco, controversial weapons, nuclear weapons) or with high exposure to thermal coal, applies values- and norms-based screens, and evaluates candidates on emissions management (historical and forward-looking), resource management (electricity, water, waste), and climate-related risk (physical and reputational risks).
The fund is managed by J.P. Morgan Asset Management. It is structured as a UCITS ETF domiciled in Ireland (JPMorgan ETFs (Ireland) ICAV). It physically fully replicates its benchmark index under the Solactive J.P. Morgan Asset Management Carbon Transition Global Equity Index methodology.
