The State Street My2036 Corporate Bond ETF is an actively managed target-maturity bond fund that seeks to maximize current income while aiming for preservation of capital. It primarily invests in investment-grade U.S. corporate bonds that mature in the year 2036, with some flexibility to include bonds with maturity dates within six months before or after that target year. Embedded issuer call options in bonds may be included.
The fund is designed to terminate on or about December 15, 2036, at which point it will distribute its remaining net assets to shareholders and liquidate. It does not aim to pay a predetermined amount at maturity. Under normal circumstances it invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus borrowings for investment purposes) in corporate bonds. It may invest up to 10% of its assets in non-investment-grade corporate bonds.
The strategy is overseen by State Street Global Advisors (now State Street Investment Management) through its Active Fixed Income team. The fund uses a risk-aware, top-down approach combined with bottom-up security selection to overweight sectors and issuers deemed most attractive. It is one of the MyIncome suite of target maturity ETFs in the U.S., a vehicle regulated as an open-end management investment company.
