The Brompton Financials HighPay ETF is an actively managed equity strategy with the goal of delivering high income together with long-term capital appreciation by investing primarily in the common shares of leading financial services companies. It supplements dividend income through a program of writing covered call options and employs modest leverage (initially about 25% of net asset value) to enhance yield and growth potential.
The ETF focuses on the financial sector, selecting high-quality financial services firms (initially via indirect exposure - CAD-hedged units of another financial sector fund - and direct equity exposure) guided by criteria such as dividend history, valuation, profitability and growth potential.
Its provider is Brompton Funds Limited. The vehicle is an exchange-traded fund (an "exchange traded alternative mutual fund" in Canadian regulatory terminology) established as a trust under Ontario law.
