The Innovation 100 Income and Hedge ETF is an actively managed U.S. exchange-traded fund whose primary objective is to generate current income, and whose secondary objective is long-term capital appreciation. To pursue this, it maintains exposure to the Nasdaq-100 Index via the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) and/or options on QQQ or the Index, while overlaying two options-based strategies: (1) an income overlay using put credit spreads, and (2) a daily downside hedge via short-dated broken-strike put ratio backspreads.
At least 80 percent of its net assets are invested in QQQ or options contracts referencing QQQ or the Nasdaq-100® Index. It also holds short-term U.S. Treasury securities and money-market instruments for cash not otherwise deployed in the options or long exposure. The hedging strategy resets every business day and is intended to protect chiefly against sharp, single-day declines; it may not guard effectively against gradual multi-day drops, and in modest declines the hedging overlay can worsen losses.
The fund is issued by ETF Opportunities Trust and managed by Tuttle Capital Management, LLC with Matthew Tuttle as portfolio manager. It is classified as a non-diversified ETF under the U.S. Investment Company Act of 1940, uses exchange-listed options (including FLEX options), and has high portfolio turnover and associated transaction costs because of its frequent option transactions.
